EMDR Intensives

Introduction

We offer EMDR Intensives.  This means that we can meet for half day or full day to do EMDR and work through previously established targets.  We find that clients often consider this option when we move into Phase 3 of EMDR, where target gets assessed and you move into desensitization of the memory.

Please note that the preparation phase of EMDR is a very important and necessary part of the process we will not be skipping over.  We will work together to prepare you for the desensitization part of the protocol.

Clients consider EMDR Intensives sessions to experience relief from trauma symptoms within a much shorter period of time (sometimes even after 1 or 2 EMDR Intensives) vs spreading out sessions over weeks and months.

Accelerated Healing:
An EMDR Intensive

I offer EMDR intensives in my practice. This means that we can meet for half a day or a full day to do EMDR and work through previously established targets. I find clients often consider this option when we get to Phase 3 of EMDR the preparation stage is mostly completed and we are ready to move into assessment and processing of the traumatic memories.

Clients consider intensive sessions to move through the processing of trauma without having to spread it out over a longer period of time. I recognize that this is not an option that is a good fit for everyone given the time, energy, and financial commitment. Clients work really hard in EMDR and processing for several hours all in one day is not suitable for everyone.

If you are interested or curious about EMDR Intensives, please bring it up with me and we can talk about it and make a decision collaboratively.

key benefits EMDR intensives

Benefits of EMDR Intensives:

EMDR Intensives are a great option for some clients who are looking to process their traumatic experiences within a shorter period of time.

EMDR desensitizes the distress/disturbance/activation of a traumatic experience.

EMDR helps reduce the level or intensity of activation significantly faster than many other psychotherapeutic modalities.  For example, I have seen clients desensitize a highly activating traumatic memory within a session or two.

If clients have the time, finances and overall capacity for processing they might prefer having longer EMDR sessions on the same day or a few days a week to progress in processing their trauma instead of several weeks.

This can shorten the amount of time of having to live with the symptoms of trauma.

I understand and appreciate that financially this is not an option for many of the clients I work with.  If you are interested in doing intensive EMDR sessions but would like to be considered for a reduction in the fees, please speak to me about this in our sessions and we will develop a plan if I have capacity for additional sliding scale spots at the time.

Meet Our Team

JEYARAJAN

Practice Owner

My clients describe me as warm and easy to open up to.  It is important to me that the treatment plan fits my clients’ goals and that this is a collaborative approach.

Together we will work to achieve the changes you want for yourself, identify the root of the problems or symptoms you are facing, and you’ll learn more about yourself through the process.

Our work can lead to a deeper understanding of yourself:  Your inner fears, wounds, outdated and/or inaccurate negative core beliefs about yourself, needs and wants that are repressed, etc.  Unlocking these inner and often unconscious struggles will lead to powerful healing experiences, self-compassion and a deep sense of self-worth. For me it’s a privilege to be a part of your healing journey.
